RULES AND REGULATIONS
Annual enrolment fee of £10 per year is payable at the time of enrolment. This is not refundable.
Full Term fees should be paid within the first four weeks of enrolment. However a discount of £5.00 per subject is given if paid within the first two weeks of a new term . Non-payment of fee will be strictly monitored by the school administration. There will be a fine of £5 per subject if students have not enrolled with four weeks of a new term. Students who do not enrol by the half term break will be excluded from classes.
The school will make every effort to conduct at least ten days (Sundays) per term. The administration reserves the right to cancel any class / classes at short notice in any unavoidable circumstances.
The school reserve the right to cancel any class with inadequate students or which are not economical to conduct. The parents will be approached to share the teacher's salary during such circumstances.
All arts students must sit for the examination conducted by the Oriental Fine Arts Academy London (OFAAL) . The promotion to next grades will only be made based on OFAAL Examination results.
All the students will be tested at the end of each term in all the subject they study . Promotion to the next grade will only be made based on the end of year results.
No student will be allowed to participate in any stage programme without spending one year at this school. However, the management, in consultation with the teachers may decide otherwise at their discretion .
Any student who is found to be abusing, misusing, damaging or have stolen any property or facilities belonging to the The Copeland Community School or The Tamil Association of Brent shall be removed or suspended from the school.
The school administration and the teacher reserve the right to stop or remove any students from free lessons if the attendance and / or behaviour are found to be irregular.
Students are not permitted to play or wander about corridors, foyer or outside the school building during their free time.
Students are not allowed to stay in the class unless there is a teacher present. All students are requested to use the reading room or gym during their free time.
The Brent Tamil School is responsible for the children only while they are in their classes. Parents / Guardians should ensure that children attend classes on time and should pick up their children soon after their class / classes are over .
Parents are not permitted to be present in a class while lessons are in progress unless the teacher requests.
Parents are not permitted to interfere or discuss any issues with teachers during the lessons.
Parents, guardian, teachers or students are not allowed to consume any food or drink in the classrooms.
Parents and guardians are kindly requested to maintain silence or keep the noise to a minimum in the corridors during the lessons.
Teachers may request the students to attend private lessons if found to be either weak in the class or for preparing children for examination/ other performances. This is left to the parent's discretion. The school will not be responsible for any such extra costs incurred by the parents.
Teachers may request parents to spend money on costumes and other make up material if the children are selected to perform on various functions organised by the Tamil School and The Tamil Association of Brent. If the parent or guardian who is not willing to spend such extra costs should notify the teacher or the administration in writing. Teachers may refuse to include such students from participating.
Selection of a student for any performances shall be based on their ability and commitment.
Any claims/ complaint should be made in writing within the same academic term or within three weeks of the following term. No verbal claims/ complaints will be entertained.
